Pablo Bachelet

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1963, Pablo Bachelet is Chilean-American and has lived in Italy, India, the United States, Chile and Argentina. His career as a journalist started in 1989 in Santiago, working free-lance for The Economist Intelligence Unit, Knight Ridder Financial News and The Financial Times, among others.

He was later hired as Chief Correspondent in Chile for Dow Jones Newswires, covering the markets, the mining industry and Business. Between 1994 and 2000 he worked at the business magazine AmericaEconomía, at the time part of Dow Jones & Co., in Santiago and Buenos Aires.

As an editor, he was responsible of the Business section of the magazine, but he also wrote several cover articles about the Internet and the media. When he completed the book on Gustavo Cisneros, he was hired by Reuters as its Latin American correspondent in Washington, D.C., where he lives with his wife and two children.
